A Polymer is a large molecule made of similar smaller molecules bonded together. When formed they give other substances the ability to be more dense, and flexible. For example chewing gum has the components of a polymer because the strong, dense, flexibility of it has it stretch as you chew and when broken it forms again in repetition. Polymers are long chains that twist, bend, stick and move slow such as a plastic bottle, Styrofoam, and crazy putty. Glass, bricks, and metals are just some materials that that aren't polymers because they aren't stretchy, and when broke they can't be formed back together.
